~Yellowcard
This is the deepest cut I,
Think I have ever felt,
These are the things I think but I will never tell.
I'm trying to walk these bridges,
Burning beneath my feet,
Well I am an echo I am heard but never seen.
These are your hearts,
Like bombs they're coming down,
They're falling on me now.
And this my last try,
Got one thing left to prove,
There's a bomber in me too.
This is a mirror image,
Of everything I'm not,
Always reflecting what I've learned but was not taught.
If I could make things different,
If I could press restart,
Then I would hold back every breath that went too far.
These are your hearts,
Like bombs they're coming down,
They're falling on me now.
And this my last try,
Got one thing left to prove,
There's a bomber in me too.
Sometimes I feel like I am working in the dark,
Collecting names collecting all *abandoned* hearts.
And if your one that I have missed along the way,
Then I'm rehearsing all the things I'd like to say.
This isn't easy for me,
This isn't easy.
These are your hearts,
Like bombs they're coming down,
They're falling on me now.
And this my last try,
Got one thing left to prove,
There's a bomber in me too.
These are your hearts,
Like bombs they're coming down ,
They're falling on me now.
And this my last try,
Got one thing left to prove,
There's a bomber in me too.

Sounds in the Key of Life
I look to the sky
I look to their smiles
But what I hear is the melody of existence.
I once blinded myself, just so I could listen
Listen so that I could see
See more than the horizon cradling the descending sun
but hear the crickets lull it to slumber
The gentle tapping of their feet
showed me their ages of impatience
The gentle sighs from their mouths
told me their deepest woes
And so I listened to life
Life that He created with not just eyes but ears
And so I listen.
People laugh
People cry
And so they echo
People live
and People die
The rhythm of life.
Addendum 17 March 2009:
This blog started as a place to store all the songs that hit me. Songs that I felt had some deep resonance with whatever I was going through. Songs that I felt were pointing at the direction I was hoping to go. Songs that took me somewhere else.
However, as time wore on I realized that it may be somewhat selfish of me to hoard this music to myself. Maybe it was because I doubted people would relate to this music or fail to see the significance that I saw. But that's just me wanting everyone to view things through my lenses.
So whether you are an avid music fan or someone who just happened to stumble onto this site, I welcome you and invite you to browse through the musical selection archived on this blog. I will try my best to not be biased and neglect certain genres of music but all lives have their own preferences and tastes. I will also be realistic and say that you may not empathize with or relate to my musical choice. But it can't hurt to hope that it will help you somehow to listen to your own life. ~DP~
